FUNDRAISING

We have received many one-off donations from people who have undertaken specific fund-raising events all over the world. Here are some examples of what you, too, could do:

Will Chadwick ran in the Edinbuirgh marathon and raised over £600.
 

Members of the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust organised a Kilifi Triathlon and half of the proceeds went to Upendo.

Members of the Scottish Agricultural College held a 'bake-off' competition and raised £300, and a Christmas raffle and raised £220.  The children of Upendo did their own fundraiser, making Christmas Cards!

• Students of Geelong Grammar School, Australia, regularly hold a 'Kids-4-Kids' fundraiser.
• Woodcot School held a Harvest Festival fundraiser and donated £110.
• We have also had donations from church groups and charitable organisations, including Heswall Uniting Church, the Sheffield Pilgrim Circuit church, and the Karibuni Trust.
• - And then we have lots people who just give donations without doing anything at all!
   

What we do for ourselves

We are very active in finding ways to raise funds, and the children love to be involved.

• Each year the children make Christmas cards which we sell locally.
• We asked people to sponsor us to paint our school chairs.
• We run a tree seedling nursery and sell these locally.
